Bridges burn

Good morning! I woke up quite early even though it's my day off. So I thought I'd head to the gym and the  go out running. It's going to be a lovely Saturday. Drake's Nothing was the same is still stuck on replay on my iPod and it's October.

Happy weekend!

Summertime happiness

Some of my favorite moments captured with my phone from the summer of 2013. It was amazing and I'm looking forward to next summer. First, though, fall, winter and spring. 'tis a good life.

Lankan nature

I just realized I've hardly glanced through the photos I took in Sri Lanka with my camera. The cell phone photos are up on Instagram, but these.. I need to go through them and sort them out. So you can expect to see more Sri Lanka photos on my blog this weekend. Tonight probably.
It's Friday! I got to sleep until 10 AM this morning, eat a delicious brunch and now I'm on my way to work. The sun is shining (finally!) after all of the raining this week.

Have an awesome weekend everybody!

September it is

Can't believe it's September 13th already! The coat is out, even though the weather is still quite warm and sunny. It's Friday and it's my day off. I'm drinking coffee abd watching Clueless. I've never seen it so I figured I should watch it. Later I'll be on my way to my favorite place (after my bed), the gym. And later I'll be hanging out with Laura and planning for our trip this fall. London or Prag, what shall it be?

Early mornings

I like mornings. Waking up at five feels more like waking up in the middle of the night though. Getting ready in 15 minutes while sleep walking is even trickier. And that's what I have to do these days. Generally, I like calm mornings, having breakfast at my favorite Vurma in Hornstull here in Stockholm or just relaxing at home, reading a good book and drinking a cup of coffee. Those are the kind of mornings I love the most and I look forward to having more of them. Lazy Sunday mornings, see you in a few weeks... Anyhow, I'll be working all day, I'm quite busy at the moment, but I usually am, especially in the fall. Last night I met up with a dear friend of mine for coffee and it was lovely chatting like in the good old times. She's off to Australia for 9 months. I wonder why I still haven't been there? But there will come a time for that!

I wish you all a nice and sunny Tuesday!

The Sea keeps calling for me

Good morning bloggers & blog readers. It's quite foggy outside this saturday morning but I did manage to get myself up and away from the bed to go running outside. Pretty proud of myself. I am not a morning person, at least not when it comes to working out. I love working out in the afternoon or preferably in the evening but in the morning.. No. So here I am, drinking coffee, eating egg-whites with broccoli, looking out, wondering when the weather is going to get cold. This summer's been pretty perfect. Me and two friends went on a roadtrip to southern Sweden and I couldn't believ how nice it was. Varberg, Halmstad, Borås - they're all really nice. So here you go, a few sunset photos from the roadtrip. Have an awesome Saturday!!

Reasons to love Florida

So here we go. A few older photos I've taken in Florida. I haven't been there in a few years and that makes me a bit sad. But I will get back there someday soon. So why do I love Florida so much? Here's a few reasons.

1. Miami - Amazing city, beautiful and warm. Gorgeous beaches combined with a cool, city environment.
2. the weather - There's a reason why they call Florida the Sunshine State. The sun is (almost) always shining. And oh don't I love the sun. Perfect weather is always a winner.
3. Disney World - It's awesome!
4. Florida Keys - Beautiful, beautiful islands. Ernest Hemingway lived in Key West and wrote To have and Have Not there. He's one of my favorite authors.
5. Key Lime Pie - Have you tried it? If not, you have to. Most delicious thing on earth.
6. Miami Heat - best NBA team. Helloo Lebron! I've seen them live and it was one of the best experiences of my life. We had good seats too. I paid for both me and my sister and it was worth every penny.
7. Hot summer nights - You won't have to feel cold. Ever.
8. Golf - Yeah, you know it. Tiger Woods and Arnold Palmer live, work & play golf in FL.
9. The variety - Florida has something for everyone.
10. Palm Beach - Welcome to the Good Life, as Kanye would say it.

You'll be reading more about Florida sooner or later. I for sure can never get enough of it.

Diamonds in the sky

Photos above are from my latest travel to Sri Lanka and Qatar.
I hate sitting for long periods of time and that's why I don't enjoy flying very much. It can be quite uncomfortable. The view from the window is however spectacular. That's definitely my favorite part of flying, looking at the clouds, the sunset or the night sky. My favorite landscapes so far have been taking off from Qatar in the night time, it really looks like diamonds on the ground. That's the second photo from above. Another favorite is landing in Miami. It is so very beautiful. And after all, it's one of my absolute favorite places too. Thank goodness most flights have good selections of movies and albums to listen to these days. Otherwise I'd be bored out of my mind. But who cares, traveling is awesome and it's always worth even the longest flights!

Pichidangui, Chile

Another favorite escape of mine in Chile is Pichidangui. The name may sound quite ludicrous, but the place is amazing. It's located on the coast of Chile, a bit up north from Viña del Mar and is frequently visited by tourists during the summer season. The beaches are perfect for windsports. The beach can get quite crowded so I recommend walking further along the beach, or even to the end of the beach to find a nice, tranquil spot. I recommend visiting the caves at the end of the beach pictured above, it's quite fascinating and leads to the cliffs pictured in the photo above. I recommend visiting the town in february. And if you get tired of the beach, spend the day at a yacht club by the pool. That's what I did and I loved it.

Introduction to the mind of a hopeless wanderer

As I introduce myself (once again) to the world of blogging, I choose to also introduce my favorite beach. My name is Sara and I could be called a wanderer of the earth. My passion is to travel, to learn, to take photographs, to see. I am a professional at looking at sunsets, swimming in the ocean, observing strangers and drinking coffee. I also love languages and different cultures. I am currently very passionate about learning about the Arabic culture. I also love reading, sports, working out, dancing, music and fashion. And writing, of course. So now that I'm getting started you will be following along on my journeys all over the world. Stay tuned. If you want to know what I look like (more or less), you can see me in the third photo from above, with my dear friend Tania. I'm the one with lighter hair and a red dress.

Right, I almost forgot to introduce you to my favorite beach. Well, it's in Chile and it's called Playa la Virgen. It is beautiful, with clear, turquoise water and white sand. Avoid tourist season (typically January-mid-March) and you'll find it to be a very tranquil and calming place. It's a bit tricky to find too, so don't try getting there on your own. The deserts in Chile are not to be underestimated when it comes to getting lost. And please, make sure you have your sunblock with you.
